The Club Pelican Bay is a private, member-owned club, in the outstanding community of Pelican Bay. As one of Naples' most desirable clubs, our standards are high. We want our members to have the best of everything that we provide, and that includes the people we hire to meet (exceed) their needs.

As our members have been discriminating in their choosing to come to us, we in turn demand a high level of service of our people in serving that membership. As fine a club as this is, our people make it even better. Let's meet the fine people with the skills and abilities necessary to keep The Club Pelican Bay in the upper echelons.

David D. Mangan
General Manger
Since 2006
David joined us in April, 2006 after spending 15 years working in the hospitality industry on the East Coast of Florida. David brings an extensive management repertoire to The Club Pelican Bay, proving himself to be a highly personable and approachable team leader to all of our members and club staff.

A native of Maine, David graduated from Saint Anselm College in Manchester, New Hampshire. Upon graduation he began his career in club management, first working at the exclusive Ocean Reef Club in Key Largo (FL), where he spent 11 years.

David followed that with the challenging position of General Manager/COO at the historic Surf Club in Miami Beach.

Donna Marie Amy
Membership Director
Since 2004
Donna Marie's background in the golf industry began with the PGA of America in Palm Beach Gardens, FL as representative of the membership department and was ultimately promoted to the Membership Tournament Department as part of the marketing team.

From there Donna Marie went to work with the Executive Women's Golf Association as their National Marketing Manager. Before going into the county club aspect of the golf industry Donna Marie also served as the Marketing Manager for the Gary Player Group.

Originally from North Carolina, Donna Marie's first county club experience came at Cobblestone County Club (FL). Donna Marie is currently working towards her certification as a Club Marketing Professional.

Bob Bittner
Director of Golf Course Operations
Since 1979
Bob is a graduate of McNeese State University with a B.S. degree in Ornamental Horticulture. He began his career here in 1979. In 1985, he attained the position of Golf Course Superintendent.

In 1988 Bob was promoted to Director of Golf Course Operations for Westinghouse Communities of Naples, Inc. overseeing golf course and construction operations at Pelican Bay, Pelican's Nest and gateway Golf Clubs. In 1991, the membership purchased The Club Pelican Bay and Bob was hired as the Director of Golf Course Operations.

Bob has been a member of GCSAA, EGCSA, FGCSA and FTGA for over 20 years. He has served on the Board of Directors for the EGSCA and is currently the Certification Liaison for GCSAA. Bob has received the Status of CGCS from the GCSAA in 1992, and certification in Environmental Management in 2002. In 2003, he was presented with the Presidential Award by the FGCSA.

Bob's involvement with FTGA has been with the Fishing Tournament since its inception 13 years ago. He is also involved with the Coastal Conservation Association (CCA) locally and at the state level serving on the Naples Board of Directors since 1996. He recently became a U.S. Coast Guard Licensed Boat Captain. 

Guy Carroll
Head Golf Proffessional
Since 1991

Guy was born and raised in Naples. He has worked in all aspects of the golf side of The Club.

Guy has also worked at Linville Ridge Country Club (NC). He holds a Business Management Degree from Florida Gulf Coast University. Guy became a Class A PGA Member in 2005, and is beginning the Certified Professional program with the PGA.

Guy is a Titleist staff member and fitter.

Heidi Clay
Private Party Coordinator
Since 1983
There is no way to fully acknowledge the twenty-plus years of employment that Heidi has dedicated to the many positions she has held. She has helped to shape what The Club is today.

Heidi Clay joined The Club Pelican Bay in July, 1983 after moving to Naples from Menomonee Falls, Wisconsin. In the early days with only a few hundred members, the small club staff had multiple responsibilities. Typical of her nature, Heidi doubled as the weekend receptionist and handled many administrative duties from answering the telephones to accounting — before computers! She even handled special kitchen projects when needed.

Hard work has its rewards and Heidi has climbed the management ladder over the years, holding her current position since 1991.

Jim DeMallie, PGA
Director of Golf
Since 2007
Originally from Worcester, Massachusetts, Jim is past Head Golf Professional at The Ocean Reef Club (FL) and Prospect Bay Country Club (MD).

Jim was Assistant Golf Professional at Wilmington Country Club (DE);
Concord Country Club (PA), and Tamarack Country Club (CT).

Merchandiser of the Year at The Ocean Reef Club and Wilmington Country Club were awarded during Jim's tenure.

Jim, a Titleist Staff member and certified club fitter and is active at the section and chapter levels of the PGA.

Joseph J. Gross
Executive Chef
Since 2007
Chef Joseph J. Gross is our new Executive Chef, joining us in August, 2007. A native of Milwaukee, Joseph grew up on a farm for a portion of his life, developing his respect for fresh produce, dairy and meats.

Prior to The Club Pelican Bay, Chef Gross worked at the Registry Resort, where he honed his culinary skills and held variou s positions including Sous Chef in the gourmet dining room Lafite and was Head Banquet Chef prior to his departure.

In 1994 he was selected by the Bonita Bay Club as their Executive Sous Chef. In 1995, he was promoted to the Executive Chef position where he oversaw all the culinary operations of both Club East and Club West.

He continues to pursue his culinary training by annually attending seminars at The Culinary Institute of America.

His personality and expertise can literally be tasted in his signature dishes and he continues to create new menus with his innovative ideas.

Ken Kaylor
Controller
Since 1991
Prior to joining us, Ken was manager of a public accounting firm in Naples, performing audit and tax services for country clubs, condominiums and real estate developers. Ken graduated from Indiana University with Bachelor degrees in accounting and zoology and a masters in taxation.

Ken is a member of the American, Florida and Indiana Institute of CPAs.
